Spurlock's family announced his peaceful passing in New York City, surrounded by loved ones, due to complications from cancer.
In a heartfelt statement, Spurlock's brother, Craig Spurlock, expressed deep sadness at the loss of his brother, highlighting Morgan's immense contributions through his art, ideas, and generosity. He described Morgan as a true creative genius and a special individual, expressing pride in their collaboration.
"Super Size Me," released in 2004, marked Spurlock's directorial debut and garnered significant attention for its bold premise. The documentary followed Spurlock's month-long experiment of consuming only McDonald's food, shedding light on America's obesity crisis. Originally from West Virginia, Spurlock pursued his passion for filmmaking after earning a BFA from New York University.
